Jan Ashmore

Jan Ashmore, age 49, of Topeka, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013 in Topeka. Jan was born August 2, 1963 in Junction City, KS. Jan grew up in Topeka. She lived in Sabetha for over 20 years, before returning to Topeka two years ago. Jan recently attended TARC in Topeka where she received the Ralph Fisher Award. She also served as the poster child for TARC when she was younger. While in Sabetha, she attended Nemaha County Training Center. Jan attended Faith Lutheran Church while in Topeka. Jan’s first love was Jesus, sharing her compassion for people. She enjoyed spending time at the Sunshine Connection in Topeka where her sister, Judy works. Along with many close friends, Jan is survived by her sister, Judy Thompson of Topeka.
Funeral services will be Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Topeka. She will lie in state one hour before the services Friday at the church for a visitation. Cremation will follow the services. Jan will lie in state Thursday from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Popkess Mortuary in Sabetha. Memorial contributions may be made to TARC or Sunshine Connection and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
