Ron E. Schmidt

Ron Schmidt, 63, of Topeka, passed away on May 8, 2021, after a courageous and long fought battle with cancer. He beat the odds but was over taken by his illness. He never lost the will to fight and peacefully passed with family by his side.

Ron was born November 30, 1957, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Richard and Catherine (Bordner) Schmidt. He graduated from Seaman High School in 1976. He was a Master Electrician owning and operating Schmidt Electric since 1985.

Ron was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed to hunt, fish, and trap.

Ron married Michelle Desch on February 14, 1996 in Las Vegas, NV. Survivors include his wife, Michelle Schmidt; his children, Kaycee E. Dillon and Cole W. Schmidt; his grand puppies, Holly and Dozer; his siblings, Cindy Bezdek, Rick Schmidt, Patty Slocum, Jean Burge, Mike Schmidt, Bob Schmidt and Barb Burgen; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jim Schmidt.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Parker Price Funeral Home, 245 NW. Independence Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66608. The family will greet friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Parker Price Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery.
